Canada Day

Happy Canada Day

Feliz Dia do Canada

July 1 - julho 1

Canada is a country of many fine traditions. July 1 is Canada's birthday. Canada's first birthday was July 1, 1876. One of the finest traditions honoured in by every Canadian is Canada day Food. So as an expatriate I like to carry on the Canadian Traditions but with a Brasilian flare!

Here we see the Canadian Flag displayed for everyone in Brasil to see.

Canada Day is a day of parades from coast to coast. But the greatest Canada Day Tradition is when EVERY FAMILY eats the tradition Canada Day Food. HOT DOGS! Everyone goes to the Parliament Buildings or the City Hall to get FREE HOT DOGS!

So, true to tradition, we cooked Canada Day HOT DOGS and gave them to everyone who showed up at our house.

Here is one lady who showed up (Judy). Notice she has dressed in true Canada clothes for the event. She is ready to eat her FREE Canada Day HOT DOG.

She was joined by Urso Branco (her husband) who was also dressed for the occasion. Here he is enjoying his Free Canada Day HOT DOG.

Following the Canada Day HOT DOGS everyone was served Free Canada Day ICE CREAM.

Judy is really enjoying her Free Canada Day ICE CREAM

Urso Branco also enjoyed his Free Canada Day ICE CREAM.

Even many of the children showed up. Pedrita has her head on the table, Nine (Black) watches, Cometa (white) is under the table in case anything falls off the table and Bambina looks up at Judy in anticipation of her Free Canada Day ICE CREAM.

It was a great party and we all loved it.

Recipe:

Hot Dogs
Hot Dog Buns
Ice Cream

Cook the dogs any way you wish; we boiled them. These were Brasilian Hot Dogs. The Buns were also Brasilian Hot Dog Buns. The Ice Cream was Brasilian Ice Cream.

So we have a perfect example of Canadian Fine Cuisine easily adapted to Brasil.

We hope you enjoyed seeing how we celebrate Canadian Food adapted to Brasil.
